Top 5 Things to Do in San Pedro
1. Snorkeling at Hol Chan Marine Reserve: One of the highlights of our trip was snorkeling at Hol Chan Marine Reserve. The crystal-clear waters allowed us to explore vibrant coral reefs, swim alongside sea turtles, and encounter a colorful array of tropical fish. It was truly a magical underwater experience.
2. Visit Shark Ray Alley (video above): Just a short boat ride from Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley offered an exhilarating opportunity to swim with nurse sharks and rays. Our guide ensured everyone felt safe while getting up close and personal with these magnificent creatures. Truly a magical experience.
3. Relax on the Beaches: San Pedro does not have many beaches. Most are privately owned by resorts or private rentals. We stayed at Las Terrazas Resort and had an amazing beach to relax on. (pictured below) We spent lazy afternoons soaking up the sun, swimming in the warm Caribbean Sea, and enjoying cocktails as we got into a deep chill. Each beach on the island offers a little something different.

4. Explore the Local Culture: We took time to explore the charming town of San Pedro, visiting local shops, vendors and fruit stands. The vibrant colors and lively atmosphere reflected the rich culture of the island, and we enjoyed interacting with friendly locals who shared stories about their traditions and lifestyle. On my solo trip to San Pedro I met a local named Maitland. We re connected when we arrived and he was able to show us parts of the island that only locals frequent. We had an amazing cultural experince because of my friend Maitlands hospitality.
